How do I install WordPress?

Overview

You can quickly install WordPress using the built-in WordPress Manager in DirectAdmin. This allows you to set up a fully functional website in just a few clicks.

Option 1: Install via Client Area (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your client portal

  2. Go to Services

  3. Click Manage next to your active hosting service

  4. Click the Control Panel Login button

  5. In DirectAdmin, navigate to: Advanced Features → WordPress Manager

  6. Choose where you want to install WordPress:

    • Your main domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)
    • Or a subdirectory (e.g. yourdomain.com/blog)

  7. Click Install

Option 2: Install via DirectAdmin Login

If your domain is fully connected to your hosting, you can log in directly:

  1. Open your browser and go to: yourdomain.com:2222
  2. Log in using your DirectAdmin username and password
  3. Navigate to: Advanced Features → WordPress Manager
  4. Select your domain or installation path
  5. Click Install

Accessing Your WordPress Site

Once installation is complete, you can log in to your WordPress dashboard at:

  • yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Use the login details created during installation.

Important Notes

  • Make sure your domain is pointing to your hosting before installing
  • Installation usually takes less than a minute
  • You can install WordPress on multiple domains or subdomains if needed

Common Issues & Fixes

Can’t access /wp-admin

  • Ensure installation has completed successfully
  • Check your domain is pointing correctly

Website not loading after install

  • Wait for DNS propagation to complete
  • Clear your browser cache

Forgot WordPress login details

  • Use the password reset option on the login page
  • Or reset via WordPress Manager in DirectAdmin
