How do I cancel my service?

Overview

You can cancel your hosting service at any time through your FossBilling client area. Once cancelled, your service will be scheduled for termination and access will eventually be removed according to our retention policy.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log in to your FossBilling client area

  2. Go to Services

  3. Click Manage next to the service you want to cancel

  4. Scroll to the Management Actions section

  5. Click Request Cancellation

  6. Choose a cancellation type (if available):

    • Immediate cancellation (service stops right away)
    • End of billing period (recommended – keeps service active until expiry)
  7. Confirm your cancellation request

What happens after cancellation?

  • Your hosting service will be deactivated based on your selected option
  • Your website and email will stop working after cancellation is processed
  • Your data will remain on our servers for a limited retention period (if applicable)
  • After the retention period, data may be permanently removed

Important Notes

  • We recommend cancelling at the end of your billing cycle to avoid immediate downtime
  • Cancelling a service does not automatically delete your account
  • Any outstanding invoices must still be paid if applicable

Before you cancel

We recommend:

  • Downloading a full backup of your website
  • Saving any important emails or data
  • Checking if you want to transfer your domain elsewhere

Can’t see cancellation option
