How do I change my domain nameservers?

Overview

You can change your domain nameservers to point your domain to your hosting. This allows your website and email services to function correctly.

Step-by-Step Guide

Log in to your domain registrar account

Go to Domain Settings / DNS / Nameservers section (this may vary depending on your provider)

Select Use custom nameservers

Enter your hosting nameservers:

ns1.websitehosts.uk ns2.websitehosts.uk

Click Save Changes

Your domain will now begin pointing to your hosting account.

Propagation Time

Nameserver changes usually take effect within a few minutes, but can take up to 24–48 hours worldwide to fully propagate.

Important Notes

Incorrect nameservers will cause your website and email to stop working

Do not change DNS records unless instructed

Propagation delays are normal after updates

Common Issues & Fixes

Website not loading after update Wait for DNS propagation to complete Clear browser cache or try incognito mode

Email not working after change Ensure MX records are correctly set in your hosting panel
